Meet Jamie — Founder + Artistic Director

My story began in 2003 — with a cosmetology license, a dream, and a deep love for the art of beauty. Since then, I’ve built a well-rounded career spanning more than two decades in the ever-evolving world of hair and artistry.

What began behind the chair has grown into a lifelong pursuit of education, innovation, and connection.

Over the years, I’ve trained under some of the industry’s most respected artistic directors and platform artists — including Ted Gibson, Jason Backe, Jo Blackwell, Kimmarie Sclafani, Min Kim and Nancy Braun. These experiences shaped my approach to both technical precision and creative artistry behind the chair.

For the past 15 years, I’ve dedicated my craft to mastering advanced color techniques as a Master Colorist at Timothy Pamment Salon in Madison, CT, where I cultivated deep client relationships built on trust, transformation, and artistry.

My career has also spanned education, brand management, sales, and social media. I’ve had the privilege of working with leading companies such as Four Star Salon Services, L’Oréal Professionnel, CB Sullivan, SalonCentric, and DePasquale Salon Systems, and I also served as L’Oréal Professionnel’s Brand Manager for the state of Connecticut in the education sector.

The natural next step in my journey is the creation of Mystic Salon + Head Spa — a space that embodies everything I’ve learned and loved throughout my career. A salon that blends luxury, wellness, and artistry, elevating the guest experience and redefining what scalp-to-strand luxury truly means for a beautifully balanced life.

Detail-oriented, creative, and deeply passionate about her craft, Laura specializes in creating curated looks tailored to each client’s hair, lifestyle, and personal aesthetic—so your hair looks just as good between visits as it does leaving the salon. In her chair, guests can expect exceptional hair, thoughtful education, and an uplifting experience. Her favorite services include custom cuts, color transformations, natural hair styling for all hair types, and makeup application and education.

Outside of the salon, Laura enjoys astrology, animals, and the occasional reality TV indulgence. She loves thrifting, discovering new coffee shops or sushi spots, and spending time with her husband and son. Maya is a licensed Esthetician and Head Spa Practitioner with over four years of experience specializing in skin health, relaxation, and intentional self-care. Trained at the Branford Academy of Hair & Cosmetology, with advanced education through Dermalogica, Sephora Pro, and Makeup Forever, Maya blends results-driven treatments with a deeply calming approach.

She is known for her soft touch, serene presence, and detail-oriented care. Her favorite services include custom facials and makeup applications, and her specialties range from microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, and chemical peels to high-frequency face and scalp treatments, waxing, lash lifts and tints, and brow lamination.

Maya’s goal is for every client to leave feeling relaxed, rejuvenated, and at peace—with confidence restored and stress melted away.

Kyra is a Stylist in Training and Salon Apprentice Associate who brings heart, creativity, and intention to every guest experience. Currently completing her cosmetology education at Collectiv Academy and graduating in May, Kyra has been immersed in the industry since beginning school in September.

Drawn to cosmetology through her love of artistry and confidence-building, Kyra views hair as a creative medium for self-expression and transformation. She is especially passionate about color services, where customization and creativity come together to reflect each client’s individuality. Known for her detail-oriented approach, efficiency, and thoughtful care, Kyra thrives when collaborating with clients who trust her vision.

Warm, approachable, and an attentive listener, Kyra prides herself on creating a welcoming, comfortable space where guests feel heard and indulged. Her goal is for every client to leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and confident—having experienced a true luxury moment.

Outside the salon, Kyra enjoys playing softball, caring for animals, and embracing her love for all things pink.
